Tonight, London’s Leicester Square played host to the premiere of Terry Gilliam’s Zero Theorem, starring Christoph Waltz, Lucas Hedges, Mélanie Thierry, and David Thewlis.
Gilliam, first known for his psychedelic animations for cult comedy Monty Python, is renowned for his distinctive cinematic vision, responsible for the ill-fated production, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), dystopian sci-fi Brazil (1985) and Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas (1998).With Zero Theorem, that debuted at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year, Christoph Waltz take centre stage as data processor Qohen, an exceptionally we’ll mannered man who one day receives a phone call offering to tell him the meaning of life, only to drop the receiver mid-conversation. Now, Qohen spends his days hoping that one day they will callback. Fortunately for Qohen he is able to take his mind of the perpetual worry with his job, namely to crack the Zero Theorem, an algorithm that holds the secret of life.
