The second night of the 57 BFI London Film Festival saw the American Airlines Gala premiere of Gravity. This space spectacular stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as a pair of astronauts who become stranded in space after a catastrophic accident during a routine spacewalk.
Sandra Bullock stars as Dr. Ryan Stone, an accomplished medical engineer taking part in her first space shuttle flight. Clooney is veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski who is on his last ever space mission before his retirement. Directing the 2 Hollywood stars is Alfonso Cuaron, whose unique technical style and prolonged takes have seen him become one of the most recognisable directors in contemporary cinema, thanks to film like Children of Men (2006) and Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001).
Hailed as one of the most awe inspiring and overwhelming films of 2013, Gravity is one of the most anticipated films of the 2013 London Film Festival.
In attendance for the premiere were the films star Sandra Bullock, plus the director Alfonso Cuaron.
